Oyetola made this known during a strategic meeting held at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, where he co-chaired the session alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, and Chairman of the Elders’ Caucus, Chief Sola Akinwumi.

While addressing party leaders and stakeholders, the former governor stated that his withdrawal from the race was in the interest of party unity and strength ahead of the crucial polls. He expressed confidence in the calibre of aspirants vying for the party’s ticket, describing them as competent individuals with impressive track records.

“We have qualified, competent and people of outstanding track records as aspirants contesting for the governorship election, and this is a unique selling proposition to feast on,” he said.

Oyetola pledged his full support to the eventual APC candidate, stressing that reclaiming Osun for the APC is a non-negotiable objective. He urged aspirants and their supporters to run issue-based campaigns and avoid acts that could breed division or hostility within the party.

“I wish all our aspirants the very best in the primaries. What matters most is party unity. Let us prioritize harmony and support one another,” he added.

He reaffirmed his commitment to work tirelessly toward returning the APC to power in Osun, assuring that the party remains strong, dynamic, and well-positioned to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026.
