The Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), Engr. Uzoma Nwagba, has delivered a heartfelt message to his mother on her birthday today (July 27, 2025). In a message shared via social media platforms, Engr. Nwagba — a Harvard University graduate and development finance expert — described his mother as a “deeply inspiring woman, whose boldness in politics over the years has not only put her family on the map but paved the way of opportunity for several generations who would otherwise not have a voice. But I celebrate her even more as the sweetest mother who has been a bond of love and courage in our family, raising four exemplary men (and one woman) since the passing of our father 19 years ago.”

Dr. Blessing Nwagba is a sociologist, educationist, entrepreneur, and politician. She is a former ranking member of the Abia State Legislature and the immediate past Abia South Senatorial Candidate of the APC. She also contested the Governorship of Abia State in 2015 under the platform of the SDP, challenging then-incumbent Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in the general elections.
Dr. Nwagba’s current passions include her role as a chairperson of the League of Women Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV), where she is a champion of national legislation for women inclusion in governance and passage of the Reserved Seats for Women Bill (HO 1359) at the National Assembly. Dame Dr. Nwagba is also a Knight of Saint Mary (KSM) of the Anglican Church and an avid golfer.
