Abia State University Uturu, ABSU has officially announced the commencement of its online screening exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. This announcement is directed at candidates seeking admission into the university’s regular degree programmes.

According to the university’s Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu, all prospective candidates are required to complete the registration for the screening exercise through the official ABSU portal at www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng. An e-payment of ₦2,000 must be made via any of the following banks or platforms:
ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu
Signature Bank
First Bank Plc
Eco Bank Plc
Zenith Bank Plc
Fidelity Bank Plc
Union Bank Plc
UBA Plc
Payment via bank debit cards
Method of Application
Candidates are expected to upload their UTME scores, O’Level, and Degree results (where applicable) to both the ABSU portal and the JAMB portal.
Who is Eligible?
The screening exercise is open to:
Candidates who selected ABSU as their First Choice, Second Choice, or wish to change to ABSU.
Candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Candidates who possess a minimum of five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, in line with ABSU’s entry requirements.
All Direct Entry candidates.
Candidates who fail to register for the Post-UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission, the university warns.
