President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Prince Chinedum Mmom as the Vice Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Environment and Technology, located in Koroma-Sakpenwa, Ogoni, Rivers State.

Prof. Mmom, a known ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, previously served as Commissioner for Education in Rivers State. He was among the commissioners who resigned from the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led administration amid the political fallout between Wike and Fubara.
While Prof. Don Mon Baridam, from the South-South, is the pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
