The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has upheld the election of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the duly elected governor of Ondo State.

In a unanimous decision delivered on Thursday, a three-member panel of justices dismissed multiple appeals challenging Aiyedatiwa’s victory in the governorship election held on November 16, 2024. The court ruled that the appeals lacked merit and affirmed the earlier decision of the election tribunal, which had also upheld Aiyedatiwa’s win.
The judgment is seen as a major legal endorsement of the mandate given to Governor Aiyedatiwa by the people of Ondo State.
