ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially reaffirmed Chief Tony Okocha as the legitimate Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the party, following media reports suggesting that Mr. Emeka Beke was laying claim to the position.

In a press statement released from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Felix Morka, CON, the APC National Publicity Secretary, described such reports as “false and misleading,” and urged party members and the general public to disregard them.
> “We wish to clarify, for the record, that Chief Tony Okocha is, and remains, the Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of our Party,” the statement emphasized.
The party’s leadership expressed concern over what it called an attempt to sow confusion within its ranks in Rivers State, especially at a time it is focused on rebuilding and strengthening its political base in the South-South region.
