In a statement signed by the State Secretary of the party, Adaji John, the suspension was attributed to Hon. Abejide’s recent meeting with party members in Abuja, reportedly held without the consent or clearance of the state party leadership.
According to the statement, the embattled lawmaker is accused of attempting to usurp the powers of the state chairman and secretary, making disparaging remarks against the leadership, and engaging in actions considered detrimental to the interests of the party.
The ADC leadership in Kogi cautioned Hon. Abejide, warning that continued defiance could lead to his expulsion from the party. The party also issued a stern warning to other members allegedly involved in similar anti-party activities, urging them to desist or face disciplinary action.
