A recent Facebook post by Ozonna sparked controversy after he was seen posing casually in photos abroad. This drew the ire of a user, OCComedy, who wrote, “A lot of youths are kpai ing in Anambra state and you’re here flexing.” The term “kpai ing” is Nigerian street slang for dying or getting killed.
In a sharp rebuttal, Ozonna commented:
“I don’t remember being elected as governor or am I missing something?”
His comment quickly went viral, amassing over a hundred reactions and sparking a flurry of responses.
One commenter, Kings Nọnsọ Izipka, came to his defense, stating:
“Na him kpai them? Attack the right person, he’s not even in the country. Attack the governor and his government.”
Another user, Emeka Aniekwe Domecas, took a more critical stance, suggesting that Ozonna’s behavior would not be tolerated if he were living in Nigeria:
“For 9ja here, this guy will be in one of the rehab centers… he should thank God he escaped!”
To this, Ozonna simply replied with the Igbo word “akụkọ”, which loosely translates to “nonsense” or “fairy tale.”
Ozonna Soludo, a musician and creative based abroad, has repeatedly distanced himself from his father’s political career. While his social media presence often features elements of his personal and artistic lifestyle, many Nigerians have continued to associate him with state politics due to his family background.
The security situation in Anambra remains a major concern, with residents calling on Governor Soludo’s administration to urgently address the growing violence and insecurity affecting parts of the state.
