Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has revealed that he and former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, were the initiators of discussions that led to the formation of an opposition coalition.

Speaking during a session on an X (formerly Twitter) space titled Weekend Politics on Saturday, Amaechi said:

 “Fayemi and I began the coalition discussion, and we subsequently agreed to broaden it so that it would involve more than just the two of us talking about starting a new party.”

Amaechi, who is also a former governor of Rivers State, explained that the move was aimed at uniting various political interests under a new platform to strengthen opposition politics in the country.
