Live at the Plateau State House of Assembly: Security is stringent; only staff members are allowed in, and press access is restricted.
The air seems tense with anticipation and uncertainty at the old government house as security officials are heavily present with no entry being allowed into the government house except for lawmakers and staff.
The 8 recognized members of the house, along with the Speaker of the House, are currently briefing the press.
A minor commotion ensued as the dismissed members refuses to leave the premises, having not been allowed entry into the House of Assembly. The APC lawmakers, who are yet to be sworn in, are not in attendance.
The 16 sacked lawmakers are outside in convoy accompanied by chanting supporters.
Only the 8 recognized lawmakers have been in as they entered alongside the Speaker of the house.
Recall that the 16 lawmakers in the Plateau House of Assembly, who were dismissed last year, have declared their intention to resume plenary today, regardless of the Court of Appeal’s decision.
