The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, on Wednesday, April 18, paid a visit to a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Stella Okuyiga, one of the pioneering 20 female police officers in Nigeria who joined the force in 1955.
Sharing photos from the visit via his X handle, Disu wrote: “I had the honour of visiting 94-year-old DCP Dame Stella Obuoforibo Okuyiga (retd..), one of the pioneering 20 female police officers in Nigeria who joined the force in 1955.
“It was a delight to spend time with this veteran trailblazer.”
