The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has insisted that the ongoing exams across member countries which Nigeria is a member will continue as scheduled, not minding the industrial strike action declared by the members of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union congress.
In a release signed by the branch controller, T. A. Y. Lawson (Mrs.) WAEC will conducting its exams and parents, principals, supervisors and the public are advised to take note and make available their candidates to sit for the exam.
The release says “In as much as we share the concerns of the unions and the generality of Nigerians, the WASSCE SC is going on across the member Countries of WAEC and the Nigerian Child should not be put to a disadvantage of missing the exam.
For the aforesaid reason. WAEC will conduct the exam and School Principals, supervisors, parents and the public should please take note and make adequate arrangements for their candidates to sit the exam”.
