In a recent social media post, Senator Shehu Sani addressed the complexities surrounding the potential removal of Senator Akpabio. According to Senator Sani, the removal of Akpabio would require a Senator to consult with colleagues and secure sufficient numbers to initiate an impeachment process.
Senator Sani emphasized the challenges involved, noting that if an impeachment attempt were to fail, the initiating Senator could face suspension until the next election. He stated, “Removing Akpabio is only possible if a Senator consults his colleagues and gets enough numbers to initiate an impeachment; if the plot fails, the Senator may go on suspension till the next election. That is it.”
