….NEC Opens 2027 Election Tickets for All Candidates
ABUJA, NIGERIA —
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Labour Party, led by its National Chairman Julius Abure, has reversed its previous stance on automatic tickets for key figures Peter Obi and Alex Otti for the 2027 general elections.
In a press release signed by Julius Abure and Umaro Faruku, the NEC announced that the party’s 2027 presidential and gubernatorial nominations will now be open to all candidates, abandoning the earlier position which suggested automatic tickets for Obi and Otti.
