In a response to former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, current Governor Siminalayi Fubara declared that he would not make any personal sacrifices, such as giving up his “kidney or liver,” to remain in office. Fubara, addressing recent political tensions, emphasized his resolve to maintain his position based on principles, rather than political appeasement or personal sacrifices.

The Governor who spoke at St Paul’s Diobu, Port Harcourt during an inter Denominational church service in commemoration of the 64th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, said “Nobody should apologize on my behalf,” Fubara said, making it clear that he intends to stand firm in his decisions. He added, “If I’m the only person who needs to stand on that side of right, I will stand there. I don’t need anybody to stand with me.”
