President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the launch of a 30-day National Youth Conference aimed at uniting young people across Nigeria to collaboratively develop solutions to pressing issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.
Speaking during his Independence Day address, President Tinubu revealed that the modalities and delegate selection for the conference would be designed in close consultation with young Nigerians and their representatives. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that youth aspirations remain central to the conference’s discussions, with the government committed to implementing the forum’s recommendations.
“Through this confab, it will be our job as leaders to ensure that their aspirations are at the heart of the conference’s deliberations,” Tinubu said. “The government will thoroughly consider and implement the recommendations and outcomes from this forum as we remain resolute in our mission to build a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Nigeria.”
The President also highlighted several other youth-focused initiatives being implemented by his administration. Among these is the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) Programme under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, which aims to develop a strong technical talent base in Nigeria.
These initiatives are part of the government’s broader strategy to equip young Nigerians with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing global environment.
