Breaking: NPF Extends Grace Period for Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to August 1
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025, following widespread public feedback and ongoing reviews of the digital application system.
According to a press release issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM. The extension aims to address public concerns, improve user accessibility, and enhance transparency in the reactivated digital application process.
The police emphasized that the ongoing service review will focus on simplifying both physical and contactless application procedures. These improvements will include enhanced verification features and streamlined processing to prevent delays and eliminate inconveniences for applicants.
The Force reiterated that the official platform for applying for or renewing the Tinted Glass Permit remains [possap.gov.ng](https://possap.gov.ng). Citizens are urged to report any instances of unauthorized charges or extortion encountered during application or biometric capturing via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
The statement also reassured the public of the NPF’s commitment to citizen-focused policing, digital innovation, and continuous service improvements, and thanked Nigerians for their patience and cooperation during the reform process.
The extension allows more time for the public to comply with the requirement without fear of enforcement actions during the interim.
