… Deploys 4,000 CNG Tankers, Offers Credit Facility to Bulk Buyers
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced that it will commence the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel on August 15, 2025, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s energy and logistics sector.
As part of the rollout, the company is deploying 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to ensure seamless and cost-effective distribution across all 36 states and the FCT. The initiative includes free logistics support for registered petrol stations, large-scale fuel users such as manufacturers, telecoms firms, aviation companies, and other stakeholders.
In a statement issued by the refinery, the new distribution plan aims to eliminate logistical bottlenecks, reduce fuel costs, and support economic growth by easing access to refined products across Nigeria—especially in underserved and rural areas. The move is also expected to revitalize dormant petrol stations, stimulate job creation, and boost investor confidence in the downstream sector.
As part of a broader sustainability push, the Dangote Group is also investing in CNG “daughter” booster stations and supporting infrastructure, complemented by a fleet of over 100 additional CNG tankers to enhance last-mile delivery.
To further encourage bulk purchases, the refinery is offering a credit facility to buyers of at least 500,000 litres, allowing them to receive an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks—backed by a bank guarantee.
The refinery’s management emphasized that this initiative supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and thanked the Federal Government for its cooperation—particularly through the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which has helped maintain stable fuel supplies amid global price fluctuations.
The company has invited marketers, fuel station owners, manufacturers, and key energy stakeholders to participate in the initiative. Registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification will be open from June 16 to August 15, 2025.
