Governor Siminalayi Fubara has acknowledged the critical role played by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, during election as Governor of Rivers State , urging for genuine reconciliation despite past differences.
Speaking to members of the Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt today, Governor Fubara said, “Nobody can take away the role the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, played — that’s the truth. Yes, we might have our differences, but nobody here will say he doesn’t know the role he played. Nobody can wish away the risk he took.”
He emphasized that real peace can only be achieved when both parties are willing to sit together and resolve their issues. “At this point, I’ve met him and we have spoken. You can’t take away the fact that he’s hurt — he’s a human being. I also have my own share of pains too,” the governor said.
Fubara called on his supporters to support efforts toward reconciliation, describing it as “the right thing to do.”
