The Presidency has dismissed rumours suggesting the replacement of Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
In a statement released on Saturday, June 28, 2025, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, affirmed that Akume remains in office, stressing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.
He described the reports as false and the handiwork of mischief makers, urging Nigerians to ignore the fake news.
