The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed that its 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will hold as scheduled on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the NEC Hall of Wadata Plaza, PDP National Secretariat, Abuja.
At a press conference on Sunday, the Deputy National Chairman (South), H.E. Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, emphasized that the meeting remains valid and binding, in accordance with Section 31(3) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), and cannot be varied, altered, or converted by any organ, group, or officer of the party.
He debunked a circulating notice on social media suggesting that the NEC meeting had been converted to a “Special Expanded National Caucus” meeting. Arapaja clarified that such a body does not exist within the PDP structure or constitution and therefore holds no legal standing.
He reiterated that the 100th NEC meeting will receive updates from the Zoning Committee and the National Convention Organizing Committee, ahead of the party’s National Convention slated for August 28–30, 2025.
“The PDP remains a party founded on due process, internal democracy, and strict adherence to the rule of law,” Arapaja concluded, urging members and the public to disregard any contrary announcements.
