A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has stated that there is nothing wrong with remaining in the PDP while aligning with a broader coalition to achieve political objectives.
Speaking on recent political developments, Ologbondiyan pointed out that if the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, can remain a member of the PDP while openly collaborating with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), then other members of the party are equally justified in forming or joining a coalition from within the PDP framework.
“If Wike can stay in PDP and work with the APC, we can also stay in the PDP and join the coalition,” he declared, in a statement that is likely to stir further debate within opposition circles.
His comments come amid growing calls for unity among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
