Benin City, July 5, 2025 – The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the South-South zone have unanimously adopted all incumbent APC governors in the region as the party’s sole gubernatorial candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was part of a communiqué issued at the end of a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Saturday. The leaders cited the governors’ “outstanding performance and commitment to good governance” as the basis for their endorsement and urged the electorate across the region to vote massively for them in the upcoming polls.
Present at the meeting were prominent political figures, including Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Governors of Akwa Ibom (Umo Eno), Edo, Delta, and Cross River States. Their presence further solidified the party’s show of unity and strength ahead of the next election cycle.
The stakeholders emphasized the need to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling for unity and sustained support across all levels of government in the region.
