The club has also petitioned the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), accusing Kano Pillars of an illegal approach to their coach. In response, the league body has written to Pillars, demanding an explanation or face possible sanctions.
Amapakabo is said to have agreed personal terms with Pillars, who are reportedly ready to activate the release clause in his Abia Warriors contract.
If the move materialises, it would mark a return to Kano for the coach and make him one of the highest earners in the NPFL.
Abia Warriors, however, insist that all procedures must be properly followed, stressing that no official agreement has been reached for his departure.
