Speaking with reporters in Bauchi on Friday, Damagum said the PDP was neither surprised nor shaken by Atiku’s departure.

“This is not the first time; we’re expecting him back,” Damagum stated, suggesting that Atiku’s history of political realignments makes a future return to the party likely.

Atiku, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, has previously left and rejoined the PDP on multiple occasions, often in pursuit of his presidential ambitions.

His latest exit has stirred reactions within the political space, but the PDP leadership appears confident that it remains united and focused despite the development.
