At a celebratory gathering held in their honour on Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu announced the conferment of the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) national honour on each of the 24 players and members of the technical crew.
In addition to the national honours, each player will receive a three-bedroom apartment and a cash reward of $100,000 (in Naira equivalent). Members of the technical committee will also receive $50,000 each, in recognition of their support and contribution to the team’s success.
The President praised the Super Falcons for their exceptional performance and for bringing pride to the nation, describing their victory as a shining example of resilience, unity, and the true Nigerian spirit.
The reward follows the team’s stunning triumph over Morocco in Saturday’s final, which secured Nigeria’s position as champions of the 2024 WAFCON tournament.
