In court documents sighted by News Mirror, Kanu, who is also representing the interests of IPOB, claims that Omokri falsely accused him and his group of orchestrating killings of security personnel and civilians in the Southeast. The Plaintiff cites a specific post made on Twitter (now X) on July 6, 2025, from Omokri’s verified handle, which reads:

“Do you know how many Nigerian soldiers, police officers, customs, immigration, and prison officers, as well as NSCDC servicemen and women, have been killed by IPOB, ESN, and Unknown Gunmen in the Southeast, of which the majority have been from Northern Nigeria?”

Kanu argues that the publication was false, malicious, and intended to prejudice his ongoing legal trials while causing irreparable harm to his reputation and the reputation of IPOB.
