What was merely a visit to project sites metamorphosed into a mega rally as residents of Ohafia communities tropped out en masse to receive their illustrious son at various sites where his name has been boldly written on projects in their environment.
Hon. Ikenna Nicholas Ukwa through his foundation has continued to show empathy to the vulnerable and aged groups by sponsoring and facilitating medical outreaches at various communities in Ohafia amongst other numerous interventions aimed at improving living standard of Ohafia residents.
At Asaga, Ukwa assisted in the expansion of their daily market and clearing of high refuge which was suspected to be a factor in the recent fire outbreak that destroyed some market buildings. Renovation of the market toilet was one of the essential requests by the traders to enable them have a good and healthy environment. All these were handed over after completion to Asaga traditional ruler.
At Ebem Ohafia daily Market, Women rejoiced as Hon Ikenna Ukwa visited the market to inspect the already installed solar-powered street lights he facilitated for the Ebem Ohafia community through the NDDC. Hon. Ukwa had started operation light-up markets in Ohafia communities, to increase trading hours as well as improve security within the market environment.
Recall that Hon Ukwa attracted over 220 units of 100mw solar street lights which have been successfully installed in various catchment locations across Ebem and Ibina Ohafia community in Ohafia LGA of Abia State.
These gestures have continued to attract accolades from men and women of goodwill including Royal fathers who have not ceased to pray and urge him never to relent in his strive to use his position as a Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Senator Godwill Akpabio to bring meaningful and impactful projects to Ohafia and beyond.
Prominent among the recognitions include the royal blessings and prayers he received from the traditional rulers of the benefitting communities, Ebem and Ibina Ohafia.
The Harvard trained innovation and strategy expert stated that he supports positive change in the society, both in politics and governance, and will begin to empower youths to become active participants in shaping their future and the future of their communities. He promised to bring more progressive ideas that will foster growth and development in Ohafia, adding that the time for all to think towards a better Ohafia has come.
In recognition of his untiring efforts and selfless service to humanity, especially for attracting a multi million naira solar power street lights in Ebem Ohafia and Ibina Ohafia, the Doyen and Paramount Ruler of Ibina Ohafia community, Ezieogo Kalu Awa in his place, offered royal blessing. Ukwa also received a royal blessing from HRH Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, JP, Kpoke 1 of Ekeluogo Autonomous Community & Paramount Ruler (Ezie Ogo) of Ebem Kingdom, Ohafia.
Hon. Ukwa who was at the palace of the revered King, was decorated with Okpu Agu and a Jorge Wrapper, including an Eagles Feather in appreciation of his philanthropic gestures.
He also received an award of honour from the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ugwu parish.
Hon. Ukwa, a Public Policy graduate of London school of Economics also holds a Bsc in Computer information Systems and an Msc in finance and management amongst several other certificates from both Nigeria and abroad.
