In a tragic incident, a two-storey school building in Plateau State has collapsed, trapping many students and teachers, with several feared dead. The building, which housed Saint Academy, located in the Busa Buji community in Jos North Local Government Area, collapsed on Friday morning around 8:30 AM, just as students and teachers had settled into their classes.
The news of the collapse has sent shockwaves through the community. Distraught residents and parents rushed to the school to ascertain the fate of their loved ones. Upon arrival, many were seen wailing on the ground, overwhelmed with grief and anxiety.
When Jay FM visited the scene, security personnel and emergency workers were actively engaged in rescue operations, trying to pull survivors from the rubble. The exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed as efforts to rescue and provide aid to those trapped continue.
