The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has announced that President Bola Tinubu is expected to make a definitive decision on the new minimum wage by the end of this week, possibly on Thursday.
Idris stated that President Tinubu plans to consult with organized labour on Thursday to finalize the specifics of the proposed allocation. The finalized proposal will then be presented to the National Assembly for approval.
This announcement comes as part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to address workers’ demands and improve the living standards of Nigerian citizens. The consultation with labour unions underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that any changes to the minimum wage are made collaboratively and with consideration of all stakeholders.
