A wave of tension has gripped Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, located in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State, following a major security operation on the campus. Reports indicate that the university has been on edge as men from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed the area, allegedly targeting students involved in online fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo.”
Eyewitnesses within the university environment claim that EFCC operatives conducted raids on several student lodges, including Zara Lodge, situated behind the administrative block. A brief 13-second video obtained by Naijadailyng247.com, captured near the university stadium, shows a Hilux vehicle believed to be part of the EFCC operation.
