A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau has received a motion seeking to restrain the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
The motion, filed by Imam Auwal, the plaintiff, against the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), requests an interlocutory injunction to prevent the party from conducting its NEC meeting until a substantive suit is heard and determined. The plaintiff argues that the meeting should be postponed until the final resolution of the ongoing legal matter.
The application was made in accordance with the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2013 and the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. The case is expected to be heard at a future date set by the court.
