The Federal Government has concluded plans to evacuate Nigerian nationals from the Islamic Republic of Iran, in collaboration with the Government of Armenia.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the move follows a request initiated by Abdulrasheed Lawal, Charge d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Iran, alongside Levon Petrosyan, Acting Director of the Middle East and Africa Division in Armenia.

This humanitarian support from Armenia underscores the value of international solidarity in times of crisis.

The Nigerian government expressed deep appreciation for Armenia’s assistance and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties between both countries.

Efforts are ongoing as relevant Nigerian agencies coordinate with Armenian authorities and international partners to ensure a safe and seamless evacuation process.
