Former President of the 6th and 7th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator David Mark has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The resignation, effective immediately, was communicated in a letter dated June 27, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State.
Senator Mark, a stalwart of Nigerian politics, expressed his deep commitment to the ideals of the PDP over the years. He reminisced about the party’s loss in the 2015 presidential election and his resolve to remain a steadfast member, working tirelessly to rebuild, reconcile, and reposition the party. Despite his efforts, Mark lamented the recent events that have plagued the party, including deepening divisions, a persistent leadership crisis, and irreconcilable differences that have reduced the PDP to a shadow of its former self.
