Former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, will now be buried on Tuesday, not Monday as earlier reported.

Buhari died at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in a London clinic, where he had been receiving treatment. A presidential delegation arrived in London on Monday morning to repatriate his remains, The Nation earlier reported.
The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Lawal Jobe, confirmed the postponement while speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon. He arrived at the late President’s residence in Daura at 11:27 a.m. to inspect the burial site.
Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria’s President from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023.
