Alhaji Dantata, a respected philanthropist and industrialist, passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on June 28, at the age of 94. He was laid to rest beside his wife’s grave at the Al-Baqi Cemetery in the holy city of Madina, Saudi Arabia, on July 1.

President Tinubu, who was outside the country at the time of Dantata’s death, had directed a delegation of top government officials, led by the Minister of Defence, to attend the burial rites in Saudi Arabia as a mark of honour for the late nonagenarian.

The President’s visit to Kano underscores the deep respect he holds for the late Dantata and his invaluable contributions to national development.
