In a circular dated Monday, August 4, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), DCNS. Serumun Deborah Aber, the Head of Service was instructed to ensure that all Permanent Secretaries who had taken possession of government vehicles from former commissioners submit them to the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration.
The development follows the dissolution of the Executive Council—including commissioners and the Chief of Staff—by Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia at the EXCO meeting held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
“All government properties including vehicles, diplomatic passports, documents, etc., in the possession of outgoing EXCO members were to be handed over to their respective Permanent Secretaries,” the memo stated.
The SSG emphasized that the vehicles must be returned before 12 noon on Monday, August 4, 2025, urging immediate compliance with the directive.
