Engr. Ramat, aged 39, is a seasoned electrical engineer and administrator with a PhD in Strategic Management, among other academic and professional qualifications.
The President also forwarded the names of two nominees for appointment as commissioners of the regulatory body. They are Mr. Abubakar Yusuf, nominated as Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, and Dr. Fouad Olayinka Animashun, nominated as Commissioner for Finance and Management Services.
All three nominations are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
To avoid a leadership vacuum at the commission, President Tinubu has directed Engr. Ramat to assume office in an acting capacity pending his screening and confirmation by the Senate, in accordance with legal provisions.
The President charged the appointees to deploy their expertise and experience in furthering the administration’s vision for reforms in the nation’s power sector.
