Governor Francis Nwifuru posted on X:
Our workers remain the engine room of our administration. We are clear on our visions about their growth and welfare, as contained in our manifesto, The People’s Charter of Needs.
In 11 months, our Government has been able to:
– Ensure prompt payment of salaries and pensions.
– Pay gratuities of retired civil servants of Ebonyi State from 1996 to 2021. Currently, the payment of 2022 to 2023 is ongoing.
– Procure four number of 100 seater Innoson CNG buses to convey workers to work free of charge.
– Approve monthly additional bonus of N10,000 to workers’ salaries, since June 2023. And another N10,000 announced yesterday, making it additional monthly bonus of N20,000 to salaries of each Ebonyi worker since we came into office.
– Recruit 1,700 Ebonyians into the civil service including workers of the judiciary and legislative arms. I approved the release of the list yesterday.
– Pay Christmas bonus of N100,000 to all State workers and N50,000 to Local Government workers.
– Recruit 195 medical workers for our general hospitals.
– Procure SUVs for all medical doctors working in our general hospitals.
– Approve additional allowance of N150,000 for all medical doctors working in our general hospitals.
– Enrol all civil servants, their spouses, and four of their children under the age of 18 years into the State’s Health Insurance scheme, free of charge.
– Increase of EBSU lecturers’ salaries by 20%.
– Increase of EBSU non-academic staff salaries by 10%.
– Approve the recruitment of 1000 teachers into our public primary and secondary schools.
More is on the way. We will continue to oil this engine of our administration – the workers of Ebonyi State, to ensure that we achieve a suitable and sustainable welfare for them and in turn, receive qualitative productivity from them in Ebonyi State Civil Service system.
