The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has called on Abia women to stand together and support one another in their personal and communal endeavors.
Mrs Otti who made the call in Ukwa East LGA during the August meeting of the Udokanma Women Organization, Ohuru Ndoki, emphasized the importance of unity among women.
The First Lady while acknowledging the vital role that women play in the socio-economic development of the state also encouraged them to continue to be pillars of their communities.
“Women are the backbone of our society. Your strength, resilience, and commitment to your families and communities keeps us moving forward. I urge you all to continue to support each other, to uplift each other, and to work together for the betterment of our state.”
She disclosed that the annual August Meeting provides the platform for women to discuss critical issues affecting their communities, share ideas, and plan for the future as well as urged them to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the meeting to develop strategies that would foster economic growth and improve their living standards.
Mrs. Otti further announced several initiatives aimed at empowering women in the region including skill acquisition programs, microcredit schemes, and health initiatives, all designed to enhance the well-being and economic independence of Ndoki women.
Responding, the women expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Otti for her unwavering support and her commitment to their cause.
They thanked His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, for the appointment of their wife, Mrs Matilda Anyamele as the Special Assistant on Special Duties and appreciated Mrs Otti for the honor given to their community in squeezing out time out of her very busy schedule to grace their occasion. They noted that this will be the very first time in the history of Ohuru kingdom that a sitting Governor’s Wife will visit their community.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs Matilda Anyamele, Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Chinwe Onyeukwu, the Deputy Mayor of Ukwa East LGA, Hon Onyebuchi Nna, Labour Party State Financial Secretary, Mr Chibunna Akara, the Prime minister of Ohuru Ndoki Kingdom, Chief Echika, the LP Women Leader of Ukwa East LGA, Mrs Chinwendu Silas and other party Stakeholders, Abia ARISE leaders, LP Ward Women leaders among other top government officials accompanied the Abia First Lady to the event which featured cultural displays, traditional dances, and exhibitions of locally made products, showcasing the rich heritage and creativity of the Ndoki women.
