The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced the dates for its National Convention, scheduled to take place from Thursday, August 28 to Saturday, August 30, 2025.

 

The announcement followed the ratification by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), in accordance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution. During the NEC meeting, members approved the composition of both the National Convention Committee and the Zoning Committee for National Offices ahead of the Convention.

 

The National Convention Committee will be chaired by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, with Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State serving as Vice Chairman, and Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as Secretary.

 

Meanwhile, the Zoning Committee is to be led by Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State as Chairman, with Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State as Vice Chairman, and Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State as Secretary.

The 2025 National Convention is expected to shape the future leadership and strategic direction of the PDP ahead of the 2027 general

elections.
