Governor Otti assured of his support for the multimillion – dollar beverage manufacturing factory in Osisioma LGA during a meeting with a delegation of Ultimum Limited, led by its Abia-born Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Austin Ufomba, who came to brief him about the completion of the first phase of their beverage factory located at Osisioma.

The Governor instructed the Abia State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Don Otumchere, to immediately scoop the road leading to the company situated along Adaelu road, Osisioma LGA, a few meters away from the Geometrics Power, and prepare the paperwork for the reconstruction.

“If you are investing a hundred million dollars in Osisioma Aba, that’s a big deal for us. And I must congratulate you. Thank you for what you’ve done for our people. Of course, you could have started anywhere else, but starting in Abia also shows what we say that charity begins at home,” Governor Otti stated.

“Your request about taking the road beyond Geometric, that’s a no-brainer. We’ll do that. We stopped at Geometric Power because we didn’t see any other thing happening further,” the Governor added.

Recall that earlier this week, Governor Alex Otti, OFR, received a group of businessmen from Aba, the commercial nerve center of the State, who came to thank him for creating the enabling environment for their businesses to thrive, which also made it possible for some of them to return to Aba to continue their businesses having left in the past because of unfavourable business environment, caused by bad governance.

Governor Otti, whose under his people-centered and intentional leadership, Abia’s ease of doing business has greatly improved, noted that the reconstruction of the road leading to the factory would greatly reduce the cost of production. He assured the Ultimum delegation that he would be available to commission the company whenever they are ready.

On ensuring the continued security of the area as requested, Governor Otti confidently informed his guests that Abia has one of the most effective security architecture in Nigeria, restating his administration’s zero tolerance for crime and criminality across the nooks and crannies of the State.

“We are securing the entire State. It has not been easy. We thank God that we have very committed personnel running our security architecture. And we are taking it to everywhere – all the nooks and crannies of the State. We have zero tolerance for crime and any form of insecurity,” Gov. Otti stated.

The Governor commended the management of the company for exhibiting seriousness by starting production before drawing the government’s attention, as well as for considering Abia as a place to set up the company. He described the company’s vision to feed the African market as a dream in the right direction, as Africa with a population of 1.55 billion people, is a huge market.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Ultimum Limited, manufacturers of Razzl soft drink, Mr. Austin Ufomba, stated that he came to partner with the State Government in the areas of investment and development of the beverage industry.

“Interestingly, I’m from Osisioma (Abia). We are bringing investment back home. I came with a team of investors, a team of partners, to tell the Governor that in Osisioma, we have completed the first phase of our beverage factory.

He noted that Governor Otti has made Abia State an investment haven and disclosed that the beverage industry they have brought to Osisioma in Abia State would bring about job creation, community development, increase in IGR of Abia State through payment of tax by its company, infrastructure development, and validation of what the Governor has been saying about Abia being ready for investment.

The meeting was attended by senior Government appointees including the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Otumchere Oti among others.
