The American International school of Abuja has offered to refund the sum of $760,910 out of the total $845,852 paid to them as fees in advance by former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello to the EFCC.
This is coming as the Efcc closed down on all the financial transactions which took place on the Kogi State govt account during the tenure of former Governor Yahaya Bello.
The EFCC in line with its mandate to recover stolen funds requested that the American International School in Abuja refund the $845,000 school fees payment made by Former Gov. Of Kogi state – Yahaya Bello for his children.
In their response, the American International School Abuja said “Since the 7th September 2021 to date, $845,852.84 (Eight Hundred and Forty Five Thousand, Eight Hundred and Fifty Two US Dollars and eighty four cents) in tuition and other fees has been deposited into our Bank account.
We have calculated the net amount to be transferred and refunded to the State, after deducting the educational services rendered as $760,910.84. (Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ten US Dollars and Eighty Four cents).
No further additional fees are expected in respect of tuition as the students’ fees have now been settled until they graduate from ASIA. Should any further deposits be made into ASIA’s bank account/s, we will disclose and inform you immediately without delay”.

Also the school made public dollar receipts issues in regards to the payment.
A portion of the funds totaling $845,000, which were allegedly paid by Yahaya Bello to the American International School of Abuja, includes some receipts.
According to source Yahaya Bello paid the tuition fee for his children from the 2025 session through the 2031 session.
