It is believed that after the remodelling of Ekeoha Shopping center, more investors will be attracted to Aba for business since it will henceforth operate at a global standard.
The developer, Rhino Homes and Properties Limited , a renowned commercial and residential real estate development company corroborated with the government of Abia State to explore unconventional solutions to solve the problems of traders in the market. They are remodeling and expanding the market to ensure that every shop owner is given first right of refusal at regaining their shops and they secured empty shops at GSM mall to temporarily move traders there in order to enable them continue with their trading activities while the construction commences.
However. some powerful and self centered business men – called contractor- financials who worked closely with the past PDP government to over populate the market with illegal structures are making frantic effort at thwarting the good intentions of the Governor. These dubious businessmen own over 200 undocumented shops each in the market and are concerned about the losses they will incure if the market is remodeled and their sharp practices exposed. Despite the obvious decay in market structures that lead to the collapse of a whole section, this group prefers to sacrifice the lives of hapless traders and their customers to ensure the cash flow from these structures are sustained.
We must salute the thoughtfulness of the amiable Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti for his decision to make sure that Aba is repositioned for the better.
