The Federal Government has announced an upward review of fees for the Nigerian Standard Passport, effective from September 1, 2024. This move is part of efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the passport.
According to the new fee structure, the 32-page Passport booklet, which has a validity of five years, will now cost Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00), up from the previous Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00). Similarly, the 64-page Passport booklet, valid for ten years, will now be priced at One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00), an increase from Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00).
The announcement also made it clear that the fees for Nigerian passports remain unchanged for those in the Diaspora.
The Nigeria Immigration Service expressed regret for any inconvenience the increase might cause to prospective applicants but assured Nigerians of its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.
