In a surprising turn of events, popular activist and social media influencer, Verydarkman (VDM), has been arrested by the police under the orders of Commissioner of Police Igwe. VDM was detained after exposing an individual allegedly involved in duping a Nigerian abroad.
Rather than pursuing the accused fraudster, the police have charged VDM with defamation. The arrest has sparked public outcry, with many criticizing the police for targeting the whistleblower instead of investigating the fraud allegations.
According to his Counsel Deji Adeyanju who tweeted on tweeter now X, said he was arrested on the instructions of Commissioner of Police, Igwe but the tweet didn’t specify the state Command CO Igwe is coming from.
