The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Austin Akobundu has tasked participants/graduands of his Cosmetology and Paint Making skills acquisition programme to build on the knowledge they acquired during the training, assuring them of his continued assistance in the course of their entrepreneurial journey.

The Senator gave the assurance over the weekend at Kolping Centre, Umuahia, venue of the Cosmetology and Paint Making Skills Acquisition Programme while giving out cash award and certificates to the over 150 participants at the closing/graduation ceremony.

Senator Akobundu further reiterated his firm commitment to keep empowering youths of the senatorial district with highly competitive and profitable skills, turning them from job seekers to employers of labour.

According to him, “I am focused on the next generation of our senatorial district, to ensure that we give them the needed focus and direction through globally competitive and gainful skills that turn them from job seekers to job creators.”

“This is why I have already sponsored nine empowerment/skills acquisition programme just under one year of being in the Senate. Let me assure our people that this is just the beginning,” he said.

Turning to the participants/graduands, the Abia Central Senator congratulated them on completing the training and urged them to deploy the skills they acquired at the programme to gainful use.

On their part, the participants thanked the Senator for the training and the cash support and promised to be good ambassadors of all that he represents both as a leader and senator.
